Olkalou Constituency
Teso South constituency is an electoral constituency within Busia county in Western Kenya. The constituency borders Nambale constituency to the East, Matayos constituency to the south, Teso North constituency to the North and republic of Uganda to the west. The constituency is IEBC No.226 of the 290 constituencies in Kenya. It has six administrative wards namely; Amukura central ward, Amukura East ward, Amukura West ward, Chakol North ward, Chakol South ward and Angorom ward.
The member of parliament for Teso South constituency is Hon. Geoffrey Omuse, the area member of parliament since 2017. The constituency has an estimated population of 168,116 according to the Kenya Population and Housing Census 2019.The constituency’s economy is dominated by small scale farming and peasantry activities. The staple food for the residents is maize, sorghum millet and cassava which the grow locally.
